Hallo Homespun,
LEAGUE GAME FIXTURES
Some of our league games start this week. We look forward to the season. Please note that we have four groups of fixtures this year, namely
1. Primary Schools (boys and girls, excluding the Under 13 Boys - Falcons Team).
2. Under 13 Boys Falcons Team
3. High School Girls
4. High School Boys
It is practice to offer sandwiches to visiting teams' coaches, umpires and scorekeepers. Elizabeth Cloete frits.elizabeth@gmail.com will contact the team parents to arrange with the respective teams to host our guests.
Softball is a team sports, with all the benefits associated - but it also creates a responsibility towards the team. Please try to make arrangements regarding other extra-murals for the next 6 weeks, to ensure your child is not missing games. Especially if your child is playing a key position or the team has less than 12 registered players. Please consider the interest of the team. The coach has to send the team list to the score keeper the evening before the game. The score keeper then fills out the score sheets. It is important to understand and appreciate the implication on the team, coach and scorers if you withdraw your child on game day. Having said that, we do understand that crisises do happen.

PLAYER and SUPPORTER CONDUCT
We appreciate the enthusiastic, constructive and kind attitude and actions of our players on, and supporters off the field. Please be mindful of the following guidelines when playing or supporting our players.
1. Never comment on, or query any umpire's decision - it is against the rules of the game. Players will be warned and ejected for a repeat offence, while the coach may be ejected for any supporter's unruly behaviour. If you notice the incorrect application of a rule, you may bring this to the attention of the coach who may appeal (no judgement calls - balls, strikes, tags, etc. - may be queried). Appeal plays (e.g. player missing a base / running on a fly ball) may be brought to the attention of the coach/players - preferably discreetly. Please remember that Umpires may only call what they see - judgement calls may not be changed on the witness of any other person.
2. No negative comments to be made towards any player, coach, or official (whether of your own or the competing team). This is also not allowed by the rules of the game (coaches are not even allowed to address any opposition player). Unsportsmanlike conduct by players, coaches and supporters will result in the ejection of the player or coach.
3. Please encourage any player for good play - including our opponents.
4. If you experience intense frustration with the umpire's calls, please contact Johan van Rensburg to enrol yourself as an Umpire.
GAME RESULTS
Game results will be published on the Check-a-log website. If this proves to be ineffective, we will publish the Homespun results on our website and Facebook page.
LOST PROPERTY
There is a lost property box in the Scorekeepers Room behind the A-Field. If you are missing something, go have a look in the BLUE GOEDE HOOP box.
Kind regards
Franzette
